Kaxu is an associative gallery located in the Saint-Esprit district of Bayonne.
We program exhibitions of urban art about emerging or renowned, and local or international artists. We also organize an exhibition, every year, at the DIDAM, the contemporary art museum of Bayonne.
Kaxu manages the M.U.R. Bayonne (7 rue des Lisses) by inviting guest artists to take over the space at each exhibition change. A way for them, as well as for the public, to explore the intimate space represented by the transition from the studio to the street.
Since 2017, Kaxu has also co-organized the Points de Vue festival with the City of Bayonne and the Basque Country Urban Community.
Around this program, we organize a lot of projects and events throughout the year, with a strong focus on arts and cultural education and cultural outreach, where we have a role to play more than ever in continuing to ensure access to culture for all.
Kaxu is a cultural venue, but also a vibrant place where, throughout the year, events that bring people together are held: concerts, performances, meetings, shows, and more.
Previously, Kaxu was SpaceJunk:
Since more than 10years now, Spacejunk showcases Urban, Low Brow and Pop Surrealist artists in Bayonne.
You must go there and check the latest art show when in Bayonne, otherwise you'll miss a great opportunity !
Formal gallery director, Alban Morlot is also the creator and curator of Points de Vue - Street Art Festival running since 4 years.
Basically, every wall you can see in Bayonne is due to Spacejunk, so why not come by and say hi ?
