The pottery

The painting on this box represents the art and practice of the pottery. It aims to demonstrate the creative process behind the well-known pieces of Barcelos, ceramics and sculptures, inviting the viewer into the intimate environment of the artist in the creative process. The chosen colours were thought to try to evoke the material itself and the nature of the practice, the clay and the manual process that may seem more rustic or hard, but which has delicacy both in the making and in the correlation between the artist and the piece.

In The BOX is project organised by Casa da Juventude. The aim is to “involve young people in the creation of new projects that enhance their appreciation and capabilities”.
