In the heart of the city of Barcelos, where the hustle and bustle of everyday life meets tradition rooted in the ancient stones, a scene emerges that captures the eye and delights the soul: the electricity boxes, previously ignored, now transformed into living canvases of expression cultural. Each box, once merely functional, is now a testament to the artistic skills and traditional crafts that echo through the generations. On them, the figures come to life in vibrant colors, portraying scenes from local daily life, capturing the essence of rural and urban life in Barcelos. And amidst this profusion of colors and shapes, the Barcelos rooster, the city's immortal symbol, stands out in all its vibrant and proud plumage. His gaze challenges the viewer, inviting him to explore more deeply the cultural riches that this land has to offer.

In The BOX is project organised by Casa da Juventude. The aim is to “involve young people in the creation of new projects that enhance their appreciation and capabilities”.
