Dorothy McPhaul

The vibrant teal and pink mural covering the building's exterior was commissioned by the shop's long-time owner, Dorothy McPhaul. It serves as a visual celebration of Black entrepreneurship and multicultural heritage in East Austin. The artwork explicitly highlights her family’s legacy, portraying her mother, her aunt, and her grandfather. The storefront incorporates elements of the family's antique trade, showcasing detailed illustrations of vintage items like a wicker chair and an old-fashioned radio.
