The mural celebrates South Austin's culture by combining iconic local imagery, including a longhorn, vintage microphone, guitar, cowboy boot, hummingbird, bluebonnets and other native flowers, beneath the welcoming message "Welcome to South Austin." Its colorful, illustrative style and layered composition evoke the neighborhood's rich musical heritage, Texas identity, and vibrant artistic community.
Born Chicago, grew up in rural Illinois, college in New Mexico, been in Austin since 1991. Started walking alleys for street art in 1995 or so and have been doing it worldwide since. Also collect prints and originals of street art.
