Cosmic Rest

by Spaceism

In the heart of the city that never sleeps, Cosmic Rest was born—an interstellar breath in the chaos. Painted by Spaceism during a residency in New York, this mural captures a sacred pause in time: a moment of peace, of stillness, of floating between worlds.

Swirls of deep blues and violet nebulas cradle a resting figure curled within the cosmos, as if the universe itself were a womb. Around them, stars shimmer like ancient memories. Geometric patterns pulse in the background—reminders of sacred architecture, of order in disorder. There is no up, no down. Only breath. Only being.

This work is a meditation on exhaustion and renewal. On finding sanctuary not on Earth, but in the vast silence of space. It’s a lullaby for those overwhelmed by noise, by light, by pressure. Here, in this corner of the galaxy, rest is resistance.

Created with aerosol and brush on a concrete façade in Brooklyn, the piece glows subtly at night under hidden LED light lines, mimicking constellations that change with movement—an interactive element inviting reflection.

Cosmic Rest is not just a mural. It’s a portal. A reminder that even among skyscrapers and static, we all need to drift… and return.
