Beyond the threshold

This artwork shows different emotions. Feelings of loneliness, powerless, sadness, but also recognition are mentioned. Artist Judith de Leeuw explains that’s exacly her intention. “I hope people wonder what it means and that it opens up a conversation about mental health.”

Two-thirds of young people struggle with feelings of loneliness. That’s a lot of young people. And yet it is scary for young people to talk about it, while we also know that talking about loneliness actually makes you feel better.
