Angelo Vassallo was the mayor of Pollica, in Campania, for fifteen years before being barbarously killed. An enlightened politician, an example to look at, a beacon of hope and courage that, for many years, we have also been remembering and following Aielli. Our municipality is twinned with Pollica, one of our parks is named after Angelo Vassallo and, since yesterday, we have a new mural dedicated to him. The girls and boys of Libera Abruzzo (for many years committed against the mafia), who came to Aielli for a volunteer camp, were inspired by the history of the mayor fisherman by devising together with the artist Edoardo Ettorre and our La Maesa - Aielli Community Cooperative - this new work of art. A boat that advances, despite the ugliness and blows, towards a future that is not about forgetting. For Angelo Vassallo, for those who don't forget it. Source BorgoUniverso on fb
