Andrii Palval is a Ukrainian artist fascinated by the colors and sounds of nature. His large animals and photographic portraits take over imposing walls in Europe and around the world.
The work created in Aielli is part of a disjointed triptych that united our country with the European festivals of Waterford and Belfast. The triptych entitled “Nesting Time” was created during a widespread artistic residency promoted by a European Festival Association project in partnership with Waterford walls and Hit The North fest.
Aielli's wall represents a nightingale resting between the houses and nature that extends in the folds and cracks of the historic center, along the stairs that lead to the tower of the stars.
The artist decided to represent this bird to connect his passion for nature and its inhabitants to our dialogue with the universe. The nightingale is in fact a bird that experiences many decisive phases of its life during the night hours, in the company of the stars and celestial bodies. In particular, at the beginning of spring the nightingale sings from dusk to dawn, thus delimiting its territory and singing tender notes for its love partner. A mural that crosses geographical borders, to be admired and imagined.( cit. Borgouniverso.com)
