The work created in 2019 by the Neapolitan artist Giovanni Anastasia tells an important moment in our history through the constellation of Gemini, symbol of the duality that characterizes Aielli. The town, in fact, despite being a single municipality, is divided into two residential areas different in shape and history. Aielli Stazione was built after the 1915 earthquake, a date which is reported on the sides of the work separately, precisely to indicate the split, the caesura caused by the earthquake, both intimate and psychological, both social and physical, urban planning. The two inhabitants, like the two twins, look at each other, fitting together as if in a sort of embrace, continuing to look for each other in the distance that separates them. Both have in their hands the tools that have always been used to work the land: the billhook and the hoe. The strong and large hands and the floral motifs that decorate the bodies of the two figures still recall the peasant history of our community and our double bond with nature and the universe. ( cit.
