The Queen of Hearts. What’s the point of being a King if you don’t have a good heart! Created for Nuart Abedreen in june 2022
Portuguese artist Nuno Viegas always mixe shis graffiti past in his current work, often combining his tag ‘Metis’ clever with images inspired by urban culture. In this case a floating mask and a bandana often used to cover your face when painting illegally, the bright yellow background is actually a giant throw up spelling his name. In the mask you’ll recognise the ‘Queen of Hearts’ referring to an earlier work (King of Hearts) at Nuart in Stavanger, linking both cites through art. Perfect for this year’s ‘Reconnecting’ theme.
