Pierre Quidu

Description

In 2013, painter Hervé Quidu completed a faithful restoration of the mural located in the town center. In 1996, following a competition organized by the local authority, the municipality and residents voted to create a mural depicting the main tourist sites of the Brocéliande region. Hervé Quidu was selected to carry out the project. Over the past few years, the wall beneath the mural had developed cracks, and the painting had become barely visible. Quidu therefore returned to recreate the mural, making improvements along the way. "I changed a few details, touched up the Château de Trécesson, and added more color and contrast. With experience, I noticed things I was no longer happy with," the painter explained. The mural depicts various historical sites arranged around a map of the region: the Barenton Fountain, the Giants' Tomb, the Bridge of Secrets (symbolized by a sword), and more.
