Cinco Villas is a town located near the Puentes Viejas dam and the El Villar reservoir. Both are essential for the water supply to the community of Madrid. This fact served as inspiration for the mural, which speaks to the more mythological side of water through a figurative-realist painting depicting the deities of the birth of water, the naiads or nymphs of freshwater. According to Greek mythology, naiads inhabited fountains, springs, and reservoirs, among other places, and their lives were linked to the life of water; that is, if the water dried up, the nymph would die. With this analogy, the artist invites us to reflect on the importance of water and its care.
