El futuro suena a tradición

The mural depicts the bell ringers and dawn singers of Benamejí (Córdoba), two traditions deeply rooted in the town's cultural identity. The scene features an elderly dawn singer holding a bell, a symbol of folk song and the oral transmission of traditions, and his granddaughter, seated beside him playing a lute, an instrument associated with traditional music.

The man wears the typical attire of the dawn singers, reflecting respect for the customs and collective memory of the town, while the girl is dressed as a bandolier, referencing another historical and cultural symbol of Benamejí. The relationship between the two figures symbolizes generational transmission, teaching, and the continuity of traditions from elders to children.

Surrounding the main scene are several blue flowerpots with red geraniums, characteristic elements of Cordoban patios, which add color, a sense of belonging, and a strong feeling of connection to the Andalusian landscape. The mural is set against a blue background, which unifies the composition and reinforces its visual identity. The town's name, Benamejí, is crowned as a central and symbolic element.

The artwork unites two fundamental traditions of the municipality in a single image: folk music and bandit history. It creates a visual tribute to local culture, shared memory, and a sense of belonging.
