Профессия шахтёра — по сей день считается одной из самых сложных и важных. Это дело для людей сильных как телом, так и духом. Рабочим приходится спускаться в шахты на большую глубину, трудиться в условиях сопряженных с риском. Тем не менее до сих пор находятся отважные люди, которые неустанно трудятся ради добычи полезных ископаемых.

На моей работе изображен шахтер. Ракурс подобран так, что мы смотрим на героя картины снизу вверх, тем самым подчеркивая значимость и монументальность рабочего. Руки шахтера изображены крупными и выразительными, что говорит о том, что это работа связанная с физическим трудом. Шахтер изображен сидящим на ящике, после тяжелой рабочей смены. Смена закончилась поздно, уже смеркается и на небе появились первые звезды. Лицо, руки и одежда шахтера испачканы въевшейся грязью, водой и илом, а где-то видны небольшие вкрапления золота. В одной руке он держит отбойный молоток, а в другой — белую птицу, которая ярко сияет, освещая все вокруг. Шахтер смотрит на птицу с теплотой и гордостью.

Птица является символом света, энергии, той пользы, которую приносят шахтеры. Так же, известен факт, что птица в клетке когда-то была инструментом шахтерского ремесла. До изобретения специальных приборов, рабочие шахт брали с собой канареек. Если птица вела себя беспокойно или погибала, значит, в шахте случилась утечка метана. Такие птицы спасли в свое время много жизней.

The profession of a miner is to this day considered to be one of the most difficult and important. This is for people who are strong in body and spirit. Workers have to go down into mines at a great depth, to work in risk conditions. Nevertheless, there are still brave people who work tirelessly to obtain useful minerals.

My work depicts a miner. The angle is selected in such a way that we look at the character of the painting from bottom to top, thereby emphasizing the significance and monumentality of the worker. The miners’ hands are large and expressive, which indicates that this is a job related to physical labor. The miner is depicted sitting on a drawer after a hard working shift. The shift ended late, it is already twilight and the first stars appeared in the sky. The miner's face, hands and clothes are stained with mud, water and silt, and somewhere small droplets of gold are visible. In one hand he holds a hammer, and in the other a white bird, which shines brightly, illuminating everything around him. The miner looks at the bird with warmth and pride.

The bird is a symbol of light, energy, the benefit that miners bring. Also, it's a known fact, that a cage bird was once an instrument of mining's craft. Before the invention of special equipment, mine workers took canaries with them. If the bird behaved restless or died, then there was a methane leak in the mine. Such birds saved many lives back in the day.

The work specially created a visual contrast between the stained hands of the miner and the snow-white, shining bird. This contrast serves as a reminder that mining resources isn’t easy, it’s hard work and the great contribution of miners in the lives of all people. That's how the light obtained from darkness appears.
