A street artist since 2017, Mr-Byste explores the intersection of art and science. A former environmental engineer, he draws inspiration from animal illustration, anatomy, natural history and quantum physics. Inspired by Schrödinger’s cat, his animal creations exist between life and death, reflecting humanity’s impact on the environment and the uncertainties of the Anthropocene. Since 2022, he has also explored movement through stencilling and stop-motion, drawing inspiration from pioneers of chronophotography Eadweard Muybridge and Étienne-Jules Marey. His sequences of 12 to 24 artworks bring animal and human skeletons to life.
