0ae (often written as 0æ or Nullae) is a highly respected Essen-based German graffiti writer, character illustrator, street artist, and multimedia creator. Within the North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) street circuit, 0ae is most widely recognized for his long-standing, prolific partnership with fellow regional artist MEAN (Mean One). They function as a highly coordinated visual tandem. While 0ae anchors the walls with raw, expressive cartoon figures and abstract pop-art doodles, MEAN builds the structural skeleton of the mural.
